Start here
Most calls start with a symptom rather than a service name. Here is how the common ones usually sort out. None of it replaces measuring the system on site — it just tells you which page to read and what to expect.
Typical causes are a dirty or iced evaporator coil, a refrigerant charge problem from a leak, a failed outdoor fan or capacitor, or a blocked condenser coil packed with salt and lawn debris. Start with AC repair and diagnostics.
Check the thermostat and the breaker once. If the breaker trips again, stop resetting it — that is the electrical side asking for attention, and we test both trades on the same visit. In extreme heat or with a vulnerable household member, treat it as emergency AC service.
A humidity problem, not a temperature problem: oversized equipment, low airflow, a dirty coil, or duct leakage. Coil, drain, and airflow work falls under maintenance and tune-ups; sizing problems get solved at replacement.
Almost always a blocked condensate drain — the single most common summer call we get here. Shut the system off so it stops producing water, then call. Prevention is routine drain and coil service.
