We install standby generators and automatic transfer switches for homes and small commercial properties across Palm Beach and Broward counties, from our shop in Delray Beach. South Florida outages come from hurricanes and summer storms, and a permanently installed generator is the difference between losing air conditioning, refrigeration, and well or pool equipment for days and barely noticing.

What we install and service
Automatic transfer switch (ATS)
Automatic transfer switch installation and replacement so the generator picks up the load when utility power drops and hands it back when power returns.
Portable generator inlets & interlocks
Generator inlet boxes and approved panel interlock kits for portable units — a code-compliant alternative to running extension cords.
Panel and service work
Panel upgrades, subpanels, and circuit reorganization when the existing equipment can't support a generator connection as it sits.
Transfer switch & generator electrical repair
Troubleshooting units that won't transfer, won't start under load, or trip breakers, including systems installed by someone else.
Permitting and inspection
We pull the electrical permit, meet the inspector, and coordinate with your fuel contractor and equipment supplier.

Site and load evaluation
We look at your panel, service size, meter location, and the equipment you want backed up, then measure or calculate the load rather than guessing.

Options and written scope
You get the trade-offs in plain terms: whole-home versus essential circuits, transfer switch type, placement, and what the electrical scope does and doesn't include.
- Step 3
Permit and coordination
We pull the electrical permit for your municipality and coordinate scheduling with the fuel contractor and equipment supplier.
- Step 4
Installation and transfer-switch tie-in
Pad or mount, conduit and conductors, transfer switch, and panel work performed to the National Electrical Code edition Florida has adopted.
- Step 5
Inspection, startup, and walkthrough
Inspection, a live transfer test, and a walkthrough so you know what the unit covers, how to read it, and what maintenance the manufacturer expects.
Standby vs. portable generators
Both can be installed safely. The right choice depends on how long you need to run, what you need running, and how much you want to do by hand during a storm.

Licensed, and easy to check
Razorback Electric Inc. holds Florida Certified Electrical Contractor license EC13009190 (qualifier Derek Lewis), listed as Current, Active on the state record. Electrical work is performed under that license, including permitting and inspection where your municipality requires it.
What we don't do
- Gas and propane piping, tank sets, and fuel connections are performed by the appropriate licensed gas or plumbing contractor.
- Manufacturer warranty repairs and engine service are handled by an authorized servicer for your brand.
- We don't quote a generator size or a price over the phone before someone has looked at your panel and loads.
Saying this up front is deliberate: a generator ties into fuel, electrical, and structural work, and no single trade covers all of it.
